Pentti Sydänmaanlakka, Ph.D

Background

Pentti Sydänmaanlakka PhD is the founder, Leading Consultant and the Chairman of the Board of Pertec Consulting Oy. He has a wide range of experiences in all areas of human resource management with an international background ranging from Europe, USA and Asia. He has earlier worked in executive positions for companies such as Nokia, Kone, Siemens and Nixdorf.

Expertise

Pentti has made his doctoral dissertation on "Intelligent Leadership and Leadership Competencies" in the Helsinki University of Technology in 2003. He has also written three best-seller books about innovative leadership: Intelligent Organization (2000), Intelligent Leadership (2004) and Intelligent Self-leadership (2006). At the moment he is specially interested in innovation and creativity; how we are able to support and speed up innovativeness and creativity in our organizations by intelligent leadership. This will be also the theme of his new book that will be published in the beginning of next year. Pentti has also been the Chairman of the Finnish Association of Human Resource Management (HENRY) and he has got the Knowledge Thirst award of Helsinki School of Economics Executive Education in 2003.

Freetime

Pentti is eager to exercise different kind of sports: tennis, jogging, swimming (also winter), golf, skiing, yoga, hiking and climbing belong to his favorites. Pentti likes also motorbiking and boating and spends a lot of time in his free time houses in East Finland and Lapland.
